Michelle Obama gave a speech back in 2013 at Eastern Kentucky University that was very inspiring. She talked about how important it is for Democrats to talk to Republicans and vice-versa. She stated that this would give students some common ground to work with, or maybe it wouldn’t, but you won’t know unless you try. She goes on to say that it is impossible not to learn something from those individuals even if you do not agree with all of their viewpoints. You will never learn and grow unless you stand up and open your mind to ideas and concepts that you may have never thought of before.
Some individuals who suffer from low self-esteem could also benefits from these types of speeches. People are constantly seeking the acceptance of others, it is typically a standard part of human nature. If someone is constantly asking what they look like or how you think of them, they are seeking that type of acceptance in others in order to boost their own self-esteem. These individuals are simply trying to receive a compliment, a gleam of hope, to make them feel better about themselves even if it is just for a minute. These are the type of individuals who need motivation most of all.
If you are consistently comparing yourself to other individuals without any particular reason, you may suffer from some issues of low self-esteem. If you happen to notice someone you care about constantly comparing themselves to others in regards to appearance, job performance, success, or any other quality, they are definitely not very confident in themselves or their skills. A confident person has no real need to compare themselves to others because they already believe in themselves and their abilities.
Many times you are able to talk them out of it but a lot of times it is beyond your control. You can try giving them motivational speeches to help boost their confidence but a lot of time the damage has already been done. Counseling or therapy would be the best option for this type of person which would be able to help them get back on the right track to happiness. Help to guide them in the right direction to a better self-esteem.
